March sees the celebration of St Patrick’s Day, and our issue has a decidedly Irish flavour – even our weather comes from Dublin this month! Read about our Region of the Month to learn more…
For this month we’re visiting the beautiful (and Ireland-inspired) Alchemy Immortalis region. Jedburgh30 Dagger writes an overview while Java Jetcity picks out ten places in the region that you simply must visit! Honour MacMillan has met with the two amazing creators behind the region – Alchemy and Immortalis Cyannis, and has talked to them about their work as the landowners, with exciting plans for the future, and their work as designers too.
And we can see evidence of their superb skills in a beautiful cottage they created for this issue of the magazine – Ceejay Writer weaves a wonderful tale about its delights.
Do you remember our Home is Where the Heart Is Quest last month? Drake Kroitschov certainly does – he was the winner of our L$10,000 first prize for finding the thirty hidden hearts. There’s another Quest in this issue to find thirty numbered gold sheep tokens which will lead one lucky person to win L$5,000 – and an amazing gift from Alchemy Immortalis too! Some of the tokens are hidden in the ten special places in Alchemy Immortalis described in Java Jetcity’s article, some more are at the Prim Perfect headquarters, some are hidden at the Designing Worlds studio … but no fewer than ten hearts are hidden in the pages of this magazine! For details of how to find them, look inside the magazine!
For our Landscape of the Month, Tricia Aferdita has ventured to a new grid – Kitely – and has met two of the leading artists there, Karima Hoisan and David Denton (better known in Second Life as DB Bailey). Kitely is fascinating not just in terms of the platform it offers but in the way residents pay for their land – something that was explored in a recent episode of Designing Worlds.
This month we have a rather surprising Linden Home, created by Ample Clarity of PrimPossible. This enterprising designer creates an amazing amount of furniture out of a single and intricately textured sculpted prim… Beq Janus has been seeing what he can do when given 117 prims to play with – and talking to Ample about his work.
Qwis Greenwood has been mentoring the Pathfinder programme which draws to an end this month. We have plans for a slightly differently constituted version of the programme for 2012 – watch these pages and our blog to find out more!
Winona Wiefel is on hand with Advice for Newcomers on making a swing – something to help you really celebrate spring! And watch out for the gift tab on that page – we’ll be giving out materials to help you make your own swing at home! And there’s more news about the most recent bargains from Spruce Up Your Space.
In Charity News, Beq Janus has been finding out all about the launch of this year’s grid-wide Relay for Life of Second Life.
There’s exciting news from all our TV shows: Designing Worlds, Happy Hunting! and Metaverse Arts, all available on Treet TV.
And of course we have free Prim Perfect gifts for you. Gifts are only available in Second Life through our inworld Intellibook version, so read on to discover how you can get your inworld copy too. And, of course, amongst the gifts, you will find the golden sheep tokens that will help you win the quest!
And our team of talented photographers, led by PJ Trenton, Judith Lefevre, GM Nikolaidis, Tricia Aferdita, Winona Wiefel, Wildstar Beaumont, and Honour MacMillan, bring you some of the most artistic eye candy from across the metaverse.
All this with News from the Grid and more!
