The Banana Palm Saga: A New Chapter

banana_palm You may remember that a little while ago, I told you of how a wedding factory moved in next door to my castle – and how I suddenly found myself gazing out of the window at what I considered to be a rather ugly banana palm. I also told how I obtained a new and beautiful phoenix palm from the Heart Garden Centre but – when I gave it to the owners of the wedding factory as a gift, they misunderstood my intention and planted it halfway down the garden, leaving me with the in-your-face banana palm.

And so matters stood, for a considerable time. Whenever I looked out of the window, I saw the abhorred tree and winced – and then went about my daily business, of producing a magazine and so on.

But then … one morning after I had risen from my hammock, I glanced out of the window and saw …

bare headland again!

I blinked. I rubbed my eyes (rl). Then I threw on the first clothes I could find in my inventory (SL) and scampered down to see what was happening.

banana_palm_continuedO frabjous day! It turns out that the wedding factory people have gone and my landlady, who has long planned to extend our quiet sim of private estates, had stepped in quickly to buy it up.

Now I face a small but rather pretty harbour and an ivy covered wall that shelters the new estate. And I can wander down from my castle and inspect the progress being made ogn the new estate – which includes a rather fine little knot garden.

So, I fear the unfortunate banana palm must now be afflicting someone else – but for the moment, I am just content to stand in my window once more and watch the sea and the quiet little harbour …
