Around this time of year, it’s lovely to think of visiting the Greek islands. And here’s one newly created for you to enjoy.
You may remember that a couple of weeks ago, I told you that Sofia Standish had taken over the sim which her store was located on, and had re-designed it – and renamed it Serafina. Now there’s be a change of plan from the original idea, and Sofia has converted one side of the island into the most delightful Greek village, complete with a small Orthodox church and a taverna. Actually, I suspect that she’s expecting an influx of Brit tourists as the taverna supplies, among other things, a dartboard!
If that shows preparation for Brits (hopefully not on stag party weekends!), then the generous provision of watersports might be a testimony to Sofia’s Australian roots. There’s a huge public pool (as well as private pools attached to some villas), and a diving platform straight into the sea.
But to be more serious, this is a beautifully constructed little village. Sofia’s use of textures is in evidence throughout the build; I particularly love the blue tiling trims you see in the under-side of arches and the front facing of steps. The use of string white and vivid blue is stunning too – and there is a careful use of planting characteristic of the region throughout.
Sofia recommends you come and watch the sunset here – she says the effects are stunning – and I agree.
