Corporate seating

corporate furniture from Shop Doma.dk The Danish company, Shop Doma.dk, who you may remember me writing about in an earlier entry, has extended their range into the field of corporate furniture.

As ever, their work is based on that of real life designers (the company behind Shop Doma.dk – JV Holdings – specialises in making reproductions of modern design, particularly Danish design , as you can see from their website). As usual, the new range re-creates the work of a real life designer, in this case Verner Panton, who is, perhaps, most famous for designing the very first single-form injection-moulded plastic chair, the S chair – which the furniture here echoes in some ways.

This corporate furniture though is designed for the conference rather than for the office or even the boardroom (unless it was quite a large boardroom). Called the Modular Congress Furniture System, it breaks down into a quarter-table is connected to 7 chairs. This quarter-unit can be connected to half a circle or a full circle with 28 chairs – or even a split circle.

Each quarter unit can be also placed arranged to form the auditorium in a conference scenario, depending on the nature and size of the event.

The usefulness of this set is its flexibility – the furniture can be reorganised quickly and effectively without needing to remove and re-rezz different items – very useful for business meetings or small conferences. I must confess that I didn’t ask whether it came in other colours – myself, I’m a fan of purple, but other people might prefer red, or even something more neutral.
