Castles Old and New: Part 2

Tuscan Castle In a recent post, I talked about Castle Island and the wonderful castles there – including our own competition castle.

But there’s another, very different castle that has been in my thoughts in recent weeks – the Castle on Tuscany Island.

It’s located up the hill from my own villa, right in the centre of the sim. And the design of the building is based on a real Tuscan castle – Castello di Brolio which is located in a quiet part of the Chianti wine-growing area, south of Arezzo and northwest of Lake Trasimeno.

And from its very inception, it was always intended that this castle should be sold at a charity auction – and it will be, this Sunday, 9th September 2007 at 10am SLT.

Main Reception Room in Tuscan Castle Over the next few days, it’s my intention to produce a series of posts about this wonderful castle, telling its story and showing you the work of the very talented designers who have worked together to make it so very special: Dellybean North, who has done most of the internal modelling, supplied some of the furniture, and who has created the most glorious bathroom I think I’ve ever seen; Xylo Hasp, who has supplied much of the furntiture and designed the interior of individual rooms; Ally Geer, who designed the sumptuous Red Roo; and Anhayla Lycia who has created a wonderful roof garden.

So keep reading the blog to learn more about the castle and the work of this talented group – and don’t forget to get your bid in for the castle! I’ll be telling you more about that later on today.
