On September 11th, 2007, a very special memorial will be officially opened in Second Life. As you might guess from the date, this memorial is in memory of the horrible attack and destruction of the Twin Towers in New York City 6 years ago.
CS Kappler has kindly provided a couple of shots to show you what the site looks like. However, I think that the memorial is very much worth your own visit, and your own exploration. You can find the memorial on the new sim, Celestial Requiem.
This is a view of the virtual towers. They are to scale with the real towers, in relation to the buildings around them.
The memorial consists of these ghostly towers, to scale, and the stunning design used to commemorate the time of the attack itself.
I will be posting more about this memorial as the unveiling ceremony approaches, and on the special day itself.
