Things that go bump in the night

Halloween 1Yes, Hallowe’en is coming – and we want to know what designers are doing!

We’ve already set out to find some examples of Halloween fare – such as this market – HALLOWEEN ALLEY by Holiday Express at BAM and Ragamuffin on Sterling Heights.

This is definitely a fun store with a wealth of Halloween goods, ranging from naughty witches’ costumes to a wide range of pumpkins and jack o’lanterns. There’s also tombstones, Frankenstein’s monsters to lurk in your graveyard, and wispy ghosts. I was a little disappointed that the splendid black and orange balloon arch didn’t seem to be for sale, but then just about everything else that I saw was for sale!

Halloween 2I particularly liked the wide range of cauldrons in various sizes, some filled with vile smoking green goo – and others packed with popular confectionery for trick-or-treaters. I’m not entirely sure how one would get the chocolate bars and bags out of the cauldron, but it’s a nice thought.

And do look out for the taped murder scene. I wouldn’t thought it was necessarily Halloween, but it might be good for a murder game role play!

So – why don’t you let Prim Perfect know what you’re planning for Halloween? Our next issue is due out on October 22nd, and we’re eager to let readers know what designers are offering -and where they can buy it!
