Doing One Thing Well

chairs by TraksThere’s a lot to be said for it, you know. Although some designers seem able to make well – just about anything, and superbly well, there are others who concentrate on some special item.

So when I get an email like this from a reader, well, I have to go and check it out:
if you would like to see some of the best furniture sculptie work in SL, check out Ink Cap by Fastrack Creeley. I don’t know this person from Adam, but I saw his forum post so I thought I’d check it out..O M G, the work has GOT to come from a professional…the style of furniture is mostly the same, but there are beginings of an awesome store…I HIGHLY suggest you check it out…kthx =0)

The writer was right; Fastrak (not Fastrack) has limited himself largely to chairs – and a few tables and lamps in order to make up complete sets for the tidy minded. The styles range from the grungy to the conventional and although I’m not sure I’d add one of the range to my own home, I do like the inventiveness and use of light and shade with the more avant garde range.

chairs by TraksMy correspondent was a little mis-informed; the store is actually called Traks, and is located on the Ink Cap sim – or rather high above it, as this store is located in a skybox. A final surreal touch is the way that a ledge around the perimeter of the skybox has been planted with trees, giving the impression that you are firmly on the ground.

There are also some more conventional chairs on offer (as shown here), but all use the sculptie method of design. I must say that the curves can look more inviting than some of the rigid lines we were confronted with in the past!

So, if you’re looking for something interesting and unusual for your seating arrangements, why not check out Traks?
