Sometimes, when shopping for something completely different, you find some treats – and this trip found me something that was very seasonally appropriate – among some other interesting pieces.
I was actually checking out skins; I’m wearing a lovely one that doesn’t actually specify the maker’s name, and so I was having a hunt for who, precisely had made it. Fortunately, with the help of the invaluable Linden Lifestyles blog, I managed to track it down. The skins were Hybrid II, produced by Nevermore Studios.
And while I was delighted to discover that the designer, Santana Lumiere, is e’en now working on the Hybrid III range, I saw a range of rather interesting room settings arrayed against one wall.
There are four, in fact, in different styles: Parliament, Gothic Lolita, Chinese Dragon and Elizabethan. All are basically bedroom suites, but each contains enough in the way of tables and seating probably to fuurnish a small apartment or starter home in and of itself (perhaps with a couple of additions). Helpfully, the pieces can be bought separately or as a set.
The Parliament set contains (as you can see at the head of this post) a rather delightful absinthe table (surely our legislators don’t drink!).
The Gothic Lolita is the most appropriate for this Hallowe’en season – although, to be honest, I think I could probably pass on the fairy lights. I prefer other elements of the design, although I’m not sure if the giant spiders come as part of the boxed set or are an added extra! However, you might be able to charm your friends with the Gothic coffin coffee table – I thought that was rather fine.
The Chinese Dragon set features some interesting heavy doors which I liked very much – even if they did make the whole room a little more tricky to photograph!
The Elizabethan was rather different from the rest. The richness is again there, but expressed in creams and warm pinks. A very elegant set – although this was, perhaps, the most heavily ‘bedroom’ of the range.
All in all, an unexpected and delightful bonus when you’re looking for some of the best skins in Second Life!
