Bunny Love

Fuzzy the Bunny and Saffia Sometimes, Second Life throws up something so startlingly cute that I can’t resist. My Maltese terrier Trixie from Zooby’s is an example of that – she sits on my arm and lets me stroke her, blinks her big dark eyes at people I’m talking to, and lets out a warning woof when touched. She’s just the perfect accessory when I’m in full Mrs Pynchon mode.

But today I came across what must be the ultimate in cute seating – Fuzzy the Bunny. Complete with three seating positions, this huge and adorable bunny comes with moveable ears, in three different colours (grey, black and brown) and is great to snuggle up to and relax with- for you and a couple of friends. Of course, they’d all have to be into ‘teh cute’.

I came across him quite by accident. I’d popped over to a sim called Mischief, having heard they did some rather nice dresses by Miko Omegamu in a store called Icing. And I found some too … but the whole layout of the sim was attractive, with small shops being group around a pretty little harbour. I mooched from one to another, noting that the driving force seemed to be Japanese (or possibly Korean) aesthetic, although some of the other shops were outlets for major stores (such as Ivalde).

Pixelated Petals I was particularly struck by another small store on the harbour, called Pixelated Petals, again belonging to Miko Omegamu with her designs on sale. This time it was plants and vases arranged in sparse and stunning beautiful groupings with lovely ceramic work. It was definitely one of those stores where less is more, and it showed in the elegant arrangements. Beware, though – this is, by and large, high prim stuff!

As I turned away, I suddenly noticed the attractive pattern on the wall nearest the door, created by three beaded curtains placed there. I was at once reminded of my friends at Corduroy, Puma Jie and Alan Wijaya, who make such excellent bead curtains; bead curtuians … very like …

A quick click on “Edit” showed me this was no copy, but brought in from Corduroy to create a wonderful effect in the shop. I do like it when I see designers working together to create the best possible effects.

From the harbour I wandered on to a bazaar where an interesting variety of goods (and outlets for other stores) were housed in tents. And it was there that I found Fuzzy, and tested the excellent seating properties of his lap!

Saffia trapped in the wallaby's pouch Sometimes,Fuzzy, however, was all alone in his store, and that intrigued me. Surely this wasn’t the only thing his designer, Row Robinson, had produced? I checked Row’s picks on his profile and headed off to his main store forthwith, to discover a rather overgrown garden, and Fuzzy reclining under a Baron Grayson sculptie tree. There is well-made smaller rabbit, and a truck you can drive, but even if you come with your money burning a virtual hole in your pixellated pocket, Fuzzy is still the only product for sale.

I explored a little further and came across this wallaby which is still a test model. Well … yes … when I sat in the pouch, I discovered I looked not at all cosy but rather worried and as though fighting to get out. Whether that’s one of the aspects being tested remains to se seen; although it is probably a perfectly valid response to look concerned when one is trapped in the pouch of a giant wallaby.

But, anyway, I left Row’s store in Osaka with my inventory enlarged by the purchase of a very large and cuddly bunny.

Now I just have to find a place to put it …
