The tendrils of Second Life can and do reach into other forms of media. Like the internet, in a more embryonic sense, its influence is slowly growing.
Take National Public Radio’s show Science Friday, for instance. It’s an offshoot of their daily show Talk of the Nation on Fridays. As its name implies, it deals with Science and Technology issues. As part of that mission, Science Friday now has a presence in Second Life at Science School (Second Life coordinates 128 128 0).
And then there is SF author Michael Stackpole.
In this interview here. he talks about his own Second Life and his efforts to market himself there. I had not heard of “book island”, although now that i know its there, i am going to go take a look!
And I will keep on the lookout for more connections between Second Life and other media.
