Caledon from Jvstin’s Point of View

CaledonHi all again.

If you haven’t guessed by now, my niche within the Prim Perfect family is not of the “how to” of designs, but the aesthetics and the design of places I visit and things I see.

As faithful readers of this space have already learned, Caledon has attracted the interest of the Prim Perfect team lately, and I am no exception.

Caledon from an airship platform

I don’t think that it’s Victorian in a strict sense, looking around and exploring this wondrous, highly detailed (and, it must be said, lots of sculpties) sim. I think its more Neo-Victorian, Steampunkish in an alternate universe sort of way, and many of the welcome signs seem to suggest that.

Readers of books like the Difference Engine, or readers/viewers of the Golden Compass by Phillip Pullman will find much familiar in Caledon. Lyra would be right at home if she were made manifest and dropped in Caledon.

Penzance Studios

I can believe that the wait list to buy land here is long. I am very happy with my (currently modest) cottage in Venice (which I will show you all once I furnish it). However, places like Caledon, showing places times and realms that never were but perhaps “should have been” are very fun to visit indeed. Airships. Movie Studios. Beautiful buildings.

If this is your cup of tea, then if you haven’t visited Caledon, do so today. And find out how it’s inspiring Prim Perfect and its readers!

Update. Perry Applemoor, one of our staff here at PP, has a separate blog devoted to her own adventures in SL, like mine. And her first entry, which I heartily recommend, is about her own explorations of Caledon.
