This is just absolutely perfect for New Year (or any time) – a champagne fountain by Dellybean North at True North Designs, in Goun.
It comes with the ability to actually take a glass from the fountain so that you can enjoy a glass of champagne – and the actual glasses are both traditionally shaped – not as flutes but as open crystal glasses, and beautifully made by that fine glass specialist who I’ve written about before – Vern Duncan, of Duncan Glass Arts .
The fountain is shown here in the conventional platinum champagne form, but there’s also a pink champagne version – absolutely gorgeous for weddings or other romantic occasions.
But the thing that makes these fountains so wonderful is the fact that you can watch the glasses filling up with sparkling, bubbling champagne.
Your package comes with the fountain and attached stepstool, and a couple of wearable bottles, which are an integral part of the overall function and need to be worn while operating the fountain functions. When you rezz it out, you have just a set of empty glasses (as in Figure 1). You can set it to Owner and Group, so that at a busy function, you can delegate the pouring to someone else!
To operate the fountain, the avatar should Wear the bottle provided (Delly has tucked a pair of them in this package in case you lose one or hand one off to a designate and they don’t get it back to you in time for next function) and then you Sit/Stand again on the lower step of the stepstool.
The initial stand provided is a speech making stand kind of thing and you can do your spiel here if you have one.
As soon as you are ready, Left Touch the top glass, which will permit Owner/Group to access the fountain menu. And then the cascade will begin! (as in Figure 2).
There’s a wonderful particle effect which means you’ll see bubbling, sparkling champagne fill the first glasses and then beginning to cascade down (see Figure 3 and Figure 4). As the the champagne begins to reach the bottom of the fountain, the flurry of bubbles at the top fades, leaving full glasses of champagne (see Figure 5), until it is all finally complete (as in Figure 6).
Once the glasses fill of course, the pouring avatar is free to step away while your guests can be invited to Touch the tray to get a Wearable glass of champagne. Some people really enjoy the particle cascade, so once the glasses have filled, Delly has made sure that you can always add this display back if you like.
When your function is concluded, you can tidy up your fountain so it’s all ready to put away until you need to bring it out for your next party.
Guests can select from male/female glasses. These are provided as the animations have been adjusted to best fit for male and female avatars. And – because Delly really does think of everything – the glasses contain a toasting option as well. A simple typed command (/1 toast) allows the avatar to briefly raise their glass and then resume sipping their bubbly.
All in all, a perfect way to celebrate the New Year!
