New Year Treasure Hunt – Clue 2: Serenity Studios

Pere Noel Clock from Serenity Studios Once again there’s a Treasure Hunt in this month’s edition of Prim Perfect. There are THIRTEEN stores taking part this month – and you have to visit the store to discover the prim count of each of the pieces featured in the magazine. You’ll find instructions on how to find the prim count for an item on our Treasure Hunt Information page.

Some of the clues (such as today’s lovely Pere Noel clock from Sue Stonebender’s Serendipity Studios in Templum ex Obscurum) have a strongly Christmas theme and it is possible that this may have been withdrawn from display. If you cannot find an item, then, for this month only, we will accept an object of the same type from the store with its prim count – in which case, make a note on your email that this is what you have done.

Thus, for example, you might choose the Grand Ciel de Nuit Grandfather Clock from Sue’s studio, shown in the picture below. This actually graces the Prim Perfect offices and has done since their inception back in April.

Sue's Stars and Moon ClockBut Sue doesn’t just create clocks. She delights in working with small, intricate and scripted things – whether it is the workings of a clock or one of her famed Serendipity Studio pianos. And her love of miniaturisation means that she has created some stunning pieces of jewellery. I particularly love her work with pearls – I have a three strand Chatelaine Pearl Choker and the pearls really do seem to have a rich luminosity such as one finds with really good pearls.

But there’s also her other furniture objects – often wantonly romantic, like her bathroom suite which I wrote about a while ago. Here the scripting is in simple but effective things, such as filling the taps (and, unlike the hot tub in my old castle, the script does NOT give you the option of flooding the entire house!). It’s wonderfully inviting – so inviting, indeed, that I found a couple of strangers taking a bath in my house the other day – something that did not amuse me overmuch!

However, don’t get think about romantic baths in anyone’s house now – you’re here to complete the Prim Perfect Treasure Hunt!

For the treasure hunt competition, what you have to do is to find as many prim counts as you can, and send the details to primperfect@gmail.com, including your avatar name and an answer to the tiebreak question (which you’ll find in the magazine on Page 90). The person to find the most prim counts will win – and in the event of a tie, we will use the tie-breaker. Also: – you don’t necessarily have to find every prim count to win a prize! Just find as many as you can – by January 20th.
