Isn’t this bed gorgeous? It is part of the Metropolitan Collection from Rustica. Maxwell Graf finally released the collection this week, after tempting me with the bed for months!
The entire Metropolitan Collection features the rich textures that make Rustica furniture so exceptional. Rich mahogany is accented by brushed chrome, and it will soon be available with brass accents. Graf skillfully uses sprims (aka sculpties) to create luxurious, softly rounded pieces that remain prim-conscious. On this bed, the headboard isn’t simply a texture — it has actual lumps and bumps that catch the light. Since the bed is only 18 prims, it is easy to see the sculpties add a lot of depth without a lot of prims.
Graf’s attention to detail is applied to the scripting he uses. As you can tell from the photo, the bed scripts tuck you in, all nice and cozy under the covers. In other pieces, the drawers and doors open at a touch. Event the baskets tucked into cabinets pull out.
The Metropolitan Collection includes numerous, sophisticated accessories, featuring several lighting options, plants in coordinating pots, rugs, and a fun towel bar for the bathroom. These accents blend easily into many decors, not just this collection.
