Whatever you do today (and that includes visiting the RFL Halfway Fair and watching today’s episode of Meta Makeover) make sure you don’t miss the opening of the Great Exhibition in Sterling Grove!
For the last 11 weeks Miss Elspeth Woolley and Mr Mako Magellan have been preparing the Great Exhibition – Second Life’s version of the original Great Exhibition of 1851 – and you can see more about it in the article that appeared on this blog yesterday.
The grand opening is today Sunday, 1st June, from 3pm to 5 pm SLT – and they would be delighted to have your company!
Mr Mako Magellan urges:
“Please don’t be late as you may miss the arrival by royal train of their royal highnesses Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.”
He adds that in addition to the great beauty of the hundreds of exhibits, there will be guided tours, souvenirs to take home and, lag permitting, fireworks.
Music will be presented by both Mr Elrik Merlin of Radio Riel and Miss Anu Papp.

Does this virtual building still exist?
It does indeed, although it has moved location. It’s now on Magellan Straits – Mako Magellan, one of the builders, moved it there after the Exhibition closed.
It’s lovely to see and visit – as are all the Magellan sims around it.
