Meta Makeover is on today – Sunday, 1st June at the SLCN studios in Northpoint – and everyone is welcome.
This week we’re on beautiful Fire Island, to visit the home of Carter Giacobini, owner of the stunning Fire Island sim.
Carter has created an amazing community on Fire Island, and he’ll be telling us something about that in the show.
But Carter, despite creating a beautiful community, has never found a house that could become a home. Despite the stunning beauty of some of the houses he’s owned, Carter has become notorious among his friends for never being able to keep a house for very long – and the reason is that although he’s owned some stunning places, he’s never found one that could become his real heart’s home.
So, our challenge this week was not just to furnish Carter’s latest house … but to find a place that could become his real home in Second Life. And we enlisted the well-known contemporary designer Charlotte Bartlett of Scarlet Creative to help us!
Have we done it? Well, you’ll have to join us in the studio, or tune in and watch the programme to find out!
The show starts at 12 noon SLT, but you should be there by 11.45 to make sure of getting a seat – and a week in an virtual London hotel!
We’ll see you there!

In today’s show, Saffia is wearing Aritha by Ivalde in green, for her exploration of Fire Island, and the gorgeous new ruched dress Verun in red.
“For this show, with Charlotte’s lovely house, I wanted something that made a contrast, but which picked up on the strong lines of her design,” explains Saffia. “Aritha was suitably dramatic – and choosing the red and black made a fun link to both Charlotte’s own Scarlet Creations, and Fire Island itself!
“As for the studio outfit, I had various thoughts. Then Neferia showed me the new Verun range – and my heart was lost! This is really gorgeous – and you may well see other colour variants of this in upcoming shows! I love the ruching detail on the dress, and the shawl collar is just wonderful!”
