Summer Treasure Hunt – Clue 1: Rustica

The Summer 2008 issue of Prim Perfect magazine is now available, and with it comes another Treasure Hunt competition!  This time we’re searching for items created by TWELVE talented designers.  For each item, you need to visit the store, find the item, and uncover its prim count. Instructions on finding the prim count can be found on our Treasure Hunt Information Page.  If you accept this challenge, you could win something from the Prim Perfect prize cabinet, generously donated by talented designers and store owners from around the grid.

Let’s begin the hunt by returning to the castle at Rustica.  I saw this Fire Urn last time I explored the castle and was utterly fascinated with it.  The design is sprimmed and scripted,  and the fire turns on and off with a touch.  Take a moment while the fire is off to look down the mouth of the urn and see the glowing coals within.  Then turn the fire back on and watch it lick up towards the chimney above.  The urn itself is earthenware, held in an iron stand.   The dirt of ages has been ground into the urn and rust shows on the ironwork.  How many prims were needed to make the item?  Make sure you check and note it down.

Something a little more modern-looking is the Cafe du Blonde collection.  This picture shows only a portion of it – a leather wing back chair and a writing desk in maple, slate, and stainless steel.  The combination of materials is just gorgeous with a modern, masculine feel.  On top of the desk is a quill in an ink stand along with a poem of heartbreak.  The desk drawer slides open and shut with a realistic sound.  The chair is comfortable, and the poses have you looking thoughtful, as if the last stanza of that poem is just out of reach.  There are several Cafe du Blonde pieces including a chaise, a roll-top desk, living room furniture, and an entire bedroom set as well.   Don’t miss the curvy gossip bench for intimate conversations.

In this treasure hunt competition, we ask you to find as many prim counts as you can for each of the magazine’s treasure hunt items.  Email the prim counts as well your avatar name to primperfect@gmail.com.  Please also include your answer the tiebreaker question which you can find in the magazine on page 90.  The winner will be the person who is closest to an accurate prim count, and in the event of a tie, the tiebreaker question will be used.  Your answers are due by September 1, 2008. Please remember – you don’t necessarily have to find every prim count to win a prize!  Have fun and find as many as you can.  Keep watching these clues for help.

Good luck with your entry!
