The Orange Island Photocontest starts today!
Orange Island and Prim Perfect Publications are sponsoring an innovative competition for teams of photographers, clothing designers and models throughout the week of 25 August, 2008, starting today, Monday. Participants will have the chance to stretch their creative genius and demonstrate their originality and innovation as a new theme and environment will provide the focus for each day’s shooting.
Today (Monday) the theme is the Swinging Sixties. . . . a time when established values were challenged, when music exploded and fashion went crazy. Can you sum up an amazing decade in a single photo? That’s today’s challenge – but our groovy destination should help you!
And the area we are heading for is … well, it’s London, of course – home of the swinging sixties!
The five sims of Chelsea, Mayfair, Knightsbridge, Kensington W8 London and London England UK form the heart of a new development of London sims that are rapidly becoming a home to real life and second life businesses, delighted Second Life residents (the prices here are MUCH better than in real life London!) and a growing calendar of social events.
Take a little time to explore the streets and spot the famous landmarks such as Harrods, Big Ben, Hyde Park, the houseboats of the Chelsea Reach or Speaker’s Corner. Perhaps you’ll feature one of these in your photograph – or perhaps you’ll capture an underground station with a train in the background or, on the
surface, a London bus.
Whichever setting in London you choose, remember to make it clear that time has stood still and it’s still the Swinging Sixties!
