September Treasure Hunt – Clue 3: Blue Lotus Okiya

Welcome to the Treasure Hunt for the September issue of Prim Perfect magazine.  Over the next few weeks, I will be taking you on adventures across the grid, searching for FOURTEEN items offered by some incredibly talented designers and store owners.  To complete the Treasure Hunt challenge, you need to visit each store that I profile, find the featured item, and discover its prim count.  Instructions on how to find the prim count of an item can be found either on page 92 of the magazine or on our Treasure Hunt Information Page.  For participating, you may win something wonderful by one of these designers from the Prim Perfect prize cabinet.

For this clue, we travel to the serene beauty of the Blue Lotus Okiya.  This okiya has been training women in the art of the geisha since April 2007.  Although the okiya itself is private, there are many places where the public can visit including a Market, Canoeing, Tai Chi and Meditation as well as areas where the geisha may entertain.  Follow the stone pathways over gently rolling hills and arched wooden bridges.  The calm Japanese music streaming in the area enhances the experience.  Flying is not allowed, but there are teleporters hidden in the deep blue lotus flowers around the grounds.

As you explore, linger for a moment at Kotan in the Hasu Gardens.  Inside is a sushi restaurant run by Satu Moreau.  That name may sound familiar – Satu is the sushi chef on the cruise ship Galaxy and appeared on an episode of Meta Makeover.  The restaurant is full of beautiful details from the tatami mats to the slippers available at the door, a cup of chopsticks to use to Satu’s own brand of soy sauce.  Menu cards on top of the counter will give you a notecard explaining the different dishes available.  If Satu isn’t behind the counter, items can still be ordered by picture from the vendor on the wall.  As you sample Satu’s offerings, look around the room for the treasure hunt item – a bottle of Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce.

To participate in the treasure hunt challenge, we ask you to find as many prim counts as you can for each of the magazine’s treasure hunt items.  Email the counts to primperfect@gmail.com along with your avatar name and the answer to the tiebreaker question which can be found on page 92 of the magazine.  The winner will be the person who is closest to an accurate prim count, and in the event of a tie, the tiebreaker question will be used. Your answers are due by October 6, 2008. Please remember – you don’t necessarily have to find every prim count to win a prize!  Have fun and keep watching these clues.
