Welcome to the Treasure Hunt for the September issue of Prim Perfect magazine. Over the next few weeks, I will be taking you on adventures across the grid, searching for FOURTEEN items offered by some incredibly talented designers and store owners. To complete the Treasure Hunt challenge, you need to visit each store that I profile, find the featured item, and discover its prim count. Instructions on how to find the prim count of an item can be found either on page 92 of the magazine or on our Treasure Hunt Information Page. For participating, you may win something wonderful by one of these designers from the Prim Perfect prize cabinet.
A few weeks ago, this blog gave you a glimpse of the Elements and Inspirations by Keith Extraordinaire exhibit at the Sunfire Galleries. The exhibit closes on October 13, so there is still time to pop over there between treasure hunt clues. Now let’s visit Keith’s work in its natural habitat, KX Designs. Be prepared to spend a lot of time looking up at all the finely crafted trees overhead, including this Palo Verde tree. Its long, bristling branches reach for the sky, ending in delicate green leaves and warm yellow blossoms. They are usually found in the Southwestern part of the United States, but its greenery could make a distinctive statement in your own landscaping.
After you’ve spent so much time landscaping your property, sometimes it’s nice to have a bit of visual privacy between your land and your neighbor’s. KX Designs has a brilliant solution in its ‘Blight Be Gone’ Privacy screens. Foliage ranging from tropical palm trees to snowy pines to a kelp bed tastefully block your view. There are ten different landscapes offered so at least one of them should coordinate with the rest of your landscaping. The screens come with copy and mod privileges so you can fit them to your specific need. Even if your neighbors are wonderful, this could be a nice addition to create your own sense of space.
To participate in the treasure hunt challenge, we ask you to find as many prim counts as you can for each of the magazine’s treasure hunt items. Email the counts to primperfect@gmail.com along with your avatar name and the answer to the tiebreaker question which can be found on page 92 of the magazine. The winner will be the person who is closest to an accurate prim count, and in the event of a tie, the tiebreaker question will be used. Your answers are due by October 6, 2008. Please remember – you don’t necessarily have to find every prim count to win a prize! Have fun and keep watching these clues.
