Welcome to the Treasure Hunt for the September issue of Prim Perfect magazine. Over the next few weeks, I will be taking you on adventures across the grid, searching for FOURTEEN items offered by some incredibly talented designers and store owners. To complete the Treasure Hunt challenge, you need to visit each store that I profile, find the featured item, and discover its prim count. Instructions on how to find the prim count of an item can be found either on page 92 of the magazine or on our Treasure Hunt Information Page. For participating, you may win something wonderful by one of these designers from the Prim Perfect prize cabinet.

I made my first visit to Barefoot Homes and Designs, yet it felt so familiar. That’s because the owner, Jeremey Ryan, is also the designer of the Prim Perfect Publications office on Oliveto as well as the new Meta Makeover studio in Northpoint. The new studio is the focus of the latest episode of Meta Makeover as well. Barefoot Homes and Designs is just one of the businesses on Barefoot Plaza. You can also find Barefoot Apparel, Featherlite lighting, and a teleport to his model homes. Within the main store, you need to locate the Skyline Office Chair in Power Red. It’s another example of elegant modern design with bold red upholstery on a glossy black frame. There are four poses built into the cushion, with my favorite being ‘handup’, raising your hand to make your point heard in a meeting. There are several different colors of the chair available, with coordinating tables and lighting displayed around the store.
After wandering around the stores on the ground level, I caught the teleport up to check out his San Juan round house. It’s a taste of the Pacific Northwest in the USA and an homage to a style of architecture that was popular there in the 1970’s. It’s a single, round room, 25 feet in diameter, with windows all around and a skylight above. It’s available in 5 colors and comes with permissions to modify the textures to your liking. There were several decorated models, giving me ideas on how to use the space. For those interested in the design, Jeremey provides a free template in the size of the house so you can see how it fits on your land before buying it. He provides a lot of information on the signs outside the houses. It’s worth the read while admiring his work.
To participate in the treasure hunt challenge, we ask you to find as many prim counts as you can for each of the magazine’s treasure hunt items. Email the counts to primperfect@gmail.com along with your avatar name and the answer to the tiebreaker question which can be found on page 92 of the magazine. The winner will be the person who is closest to an accurate prim count, and in the event of a tie, the tiebreaker question will be used. Your answers are due by October 6, 2008. Please remember – you don’t necessarily have to find every prim count to win a prize! Have fun and keep watching these clues.
