Welcome to the Treasure Hunt for the September issue of Prim Perfect magazine. Over the next few weeks, I will be taking you on adventures across the grid, searching for FOURTEEN items offered by some incredibly talented designers and store owners. To complete the Treasure Hunt challenge, you need to visit each store that I profile, find the featured item, and discover its prim count. Instructions on how to find the prim count of an item can be found either on page 92 of the magazine or on our Treasure Hunt Information Page. For participating, you may win something wonderful by one of these designers from the Prim Perfect prize cabinet.
Although we’re approaching the deadline for the treasure hunt, I cannot let these last items pass unnoticed. Scarlet Creative is finishing its second birthday celebrations. There is a special sale going on until 10 October where any house purchased will receive the furniture displayed within it for free. Pictured here is the brand new Muscat house. The room has a Turkish feel to me, with rooms circling a central courtyard. You enter the house through a breezeway over a moat filled with water into the courtyard. In the very center is a sunken pit with a ring of cushions surrounding a snake-tongue yucca plant. Both the windows and doors are comprised of slatted wood. It’s a very modular design, each room a unit around the courtyard. This house brings an exotic feel to Scarlet Creative’s usual sophisticated modern designs.
For the treasure hunt, Charlotte Bartlett has asked us to find the Milan Candles. They are sleek black oval pillars. They have a subtle layered texture to them and burn with a deep yellow flame. There are three sizes, but you need to find the prim count of only one of them. Enjoy your time at Scarlet Creative. Although the design is clean and modern, it never feels cold with their warm textures, soft edges, and lots of water.
To participate in the treasure hunt challenge, we ask you to find as many prim counts as you can for each of the magazine’s treasure hunt items. Email the counts to primperfect@gmail.com along with your avatar name and the answer to the tiebreaker question which can be found on page 92 of the magazine. The winner will be the person who is closest to an accurate prim count, and in the event of a tie, the tiebreaker question will be used. Your answers are due by October 6, 2008. Please remember – you don’t necessarily have to find every prim count to win a prize! Have fun and keep watching these clues.
