Do you get iTunes giftcards or Amazon gift cards for the holidays? Crap Mariner has come up with an excellent way to use them – and support an important group of Second Life content creators at the same time.
“Last year, I got a lot of iTunes giftcards,” he explains, “and I spent all the credits on SL-related musicians.”
It’s a great idea – but how do you find them? After all, many perform (and record) in real life under very different names. Cylindrian Rutabaga, for example is Grace Buford, and Mankind Tracer is Seth Regan.
Fortunately, Crap is here to help. Last year, he also collected URLs to iTunes download pages for SL musicians in case anybody else wanted to do the same as he did. And this year, he is doing the same thing again, as well as posting a catalogue of links on his weblog in addition to posting the album covers and links in his Clocktower on Edloe Island.
He is also keen to hear from any Second Life performers with music on iTunes or Amazon so that he can add the links to the weblog – and the album covers to the gallery. There’s also a subscribe-o-matic group that you can join to get updates when new performers join the gallery, when there’s changes to the poster, or other items of interest involving the project. To unsubscribe, just click on the sign again or IM Crap Mariner asking to be removed. You’ll find the subscribe-o-matic kiosks in the clocktower, or at the Meta Makeover studios in Northpoint.

I would also like to point out that KONA Radio is also listed on iTunes furthering the exposure an artist can have. We prefer that artists submit studio produced music to keep the overall sound quality of the stream consistent. IM me in world for my email address for submissions.
