December Treasure Hunt – Clue 3: KX Designs

After eating far too much over the holidays, it’s time to get up and go hunting for the Treasure Hunt items in the December issue of Prim Perfect magazine.  We’re going to jog around the grid, searching for ELEVEN items contributed by some talented designers and store owners.  I’ll tell you a bit about the featured item, but you have to find it  and write down its prim count.   Instructions on how to find the prim count of an item can be found on page 46 of the magazine or on our Treasure Hunt Information Page.  The one who submits the most correct prim counts will receive this month’s Star Prize – a manor house in Kettle Moraine furnished by Keith Extraordinaire and featured on page 36 of the magazine!

Let’s slow down for a little bit and enjoy the quiet of Serenite, home to KX Designs.  In case the chill of winter soaks into your bones, Keith Extraordinaire has several fireplaces burning.  The featured item for the Treasure Hunt is this KX Rustic Stone Fireplace, large straight. The stones of the fireplace and the sawn logs of the mantle seemed so real that I wanted to touch them.  The hearth is made from a solid slab of stone, and the crackling fire within comes with a unique volume control.

Keith Extraordinaire is the designer who decorated this month’s Star Prize home in Kettle Moraine.  Although the home is decorated with furnishings from several designers, this picture shows one of his own creations that can be found in the home.  It’s his “shabby” furniture – tables, cabinets, and hutches, offered in white or teal.  The wood of the pieces is worn, nicked, and scratched, giving it a casual feel.  The hutches and cabinets can be purchased with either fake doors or working doors depending on your prim budget.  If you’re lucky enough to win the Star Prize, some of these pieces will be yours!

To participate in the treasure hunt challenge, we ask you to find as many prim counts as you can for each of the magazine’s treasure hunt items.  Email the counts to primperfect@gmail.com along with your avatar name and the completion of the tiebreaker sentence “Prim Perfect is…” in fifteen words or less.  The winner will be the person who is closest to an accurate prim count, and in the event of a tie, the tiebreaker question will be used. Your answers are due by January 20, 2009. Please remember – you don’t necessarily have to find every prim count to win a prize!  Runner-up prizes will also be awarded!
