Half way through the Treasure Hunt, it is time for a little treat. Right in Dans les Montagnes is an outlet of the Sweet Dreams Pastisserie. Inside a store with bare brick walls and a black and white tile floor veined in gold, Edwina Heron displays gorgeous sweet cakes and cupcakes. One of the most elaborate cakes is this Mermaid Cake. It is a three-tiered cake, frosted in buttery yellow with engraved swirls. Decorating the tiers are pastel frosting seashells. Many people want the frosting rose off a cake. With this cake, you can argue over who gets the conch or scallop shell.
Perfect for any occasion is this Color Change Bow Cake. A cream colored fondant icing is draped over the three tiers of cake. A large bead of icing circles each layer and an elaborate bow sits on the top. A touch to the bow brings up a menu to select the color of bow and icing. As I remarked to someone as I browsed the store, I believe I got a sugar rush just from standing near the cakes. I can only imagine how wonderful they would taste.
