
Everyone is worried about sales these days.
So, we at Prim Perfect have been thinking about ways we can help our advertisers. In forthcoming posts, we’ll be outlining some of the things we want to do to try and help, and we want to start with a very special tool we’ve developed in collaboration with that most elegant of code poets, Zenmondo Wormser.

We’ve worked with Zen to create a special tool. Simple for you to use, simple for customers to use, it will help you find out what really draws people to your store. In the illustrations, you’ll see how I tested it earlier today with Esmee Isbell of Cherished.
Everyone needs metrics to measure trade – but these can be hard to come by. Yes, you can see your traffic figures, or have a greeter on your land to count the number of visitors, and you can pour over your transaction histories. But that doesn’t answer a key question.
What has brought people to your store in the first place?
Was it the recommendation of a friend? Was it a kickback from a gridwide hunt? Was it that amazing free promotion you went for? Was it all those thousands of Lindens you’ve paid to score a high place in the Classifieds? Is it the L$30 that you invested in Search Places? Was it your guest appearance on Meta Makeover? Was it advertising on SLCN? In Prim Perfect or the Primgraph? BOSL?

You need to know – so that you can spend your resources wisely.
And now we can help you to find out.
The tool that Zen has created is easy to set up, easy for your customers to use, and easy for you to operate.
You choose a freebie that you can give away in the store. Display it prominently, drop Zen’s script and the notecards inside – and when a customer clicks to get the freebie, it will ask them (in a blue pop-up) how they heard of the store – and tell them in chat to take the survey.
YOU set the options (a simple notecard will explain how to do this), and once the customers have clicked the box, they can go off happily with their freebie, while their response is emailed to you. Soon you’ll be able to build up a picture of how people are finding out about you!
You can use it to monitor regular traffic, and you can change the configuration and the gift if you wanted, say, to find out how successful a promotion has been, or if it was a gridwide hunt that brought customers to your store.
