Are you ready to celebrate St Patrick’s Day? We’ve been enjoying the craic in the West of Ireland — and the surfing too — and we bring you some of that very special West of Ireland style in this issue!
Rowan Derryth leads our exploration of the West of Island region, while Jvstin Tomorrow provides his guide to places to see in the area. Scotti Lyle has an interview with Sioban McMahon, the owner of West of Ireland and a tireless worker not only for the region, but also for the charity Project Children — and Scotti also brings us the full background to that! And we have joined in with this, too. Cierra Anatine, the designer behind the fabulous Kismet store, is our Designer of the Month; and she has donated a beautiful manor house, fully furnished, to be auctioned on St Patrick’s Day to raise funds for Project Children. You can learn more about the Designer — and the wonderful home she has created — in the magazine.
And Irish gardens have not been forgotten either. Kaye Robbiani set out to create a proper bog garden — and on the way, she learned something about the urgent need to conserve peat and the bog environment. It makes for a fascinating article — and, in places, a disturbing one.

The West of Ireland is a place to have fun — as Ceejay Writer found as she went in pursuit of the craic — that uniquely Irish blend of conversation and music and entertainment. And if your tastes run to literature, Viv Trafalgar has accompanied Sir JJ Drinkwater and Kghia Gherardi as they stroll around the West of Ireland and share their thoughts on Yeats. Rowan Derryth also explored the art on display here — not just in the galleries (although she certainly visited those), but also the monuments that celebrate Ireland’s past.

Tallking of Ireland’s past … our landscape of the month is a beautiful recreation of Ireland on the cusp between Paganism and Christianity. Ancient Ireland is a friendly role playing sim with stirring stories to tell — and Raven Haalan has visited it and brought back a report.

Qwis Greenwood has been out visiting too. She has been exploring the options for newcomers arriving at Community Gateways — and seeing how they are developing different levels of support and engagement. Fancy an avatar that looks like you in real life? Want to start life in a famous city? Or are you more interested in contacting your inner elf or joining a Victorian steampunk community? Qwis has advice on all of them!
What of our Pathfinders? Well, this month we are still working our way through the applications we received. We are planning to announce news of the new Pathfinders at the Homes, Gardens and Patio Expo in mid-April, with displays of their work — so make sure you watch the blog and come and see us there!
This month we are starting a major new series based around the initiative from Linden Lab — the Linden Homes. Every month, we’ll be asking a top designer to furnish a Linden Home, within the 117 prim budget. This month, that designer is Colleen Desmoulins of The Loft, and you can see how she made my Linden Home look utterly wonderful.

Colleen has now released the range of furniture that she used to furnish my Linden Home. The range is called the Maxwell, and almost every piece is texture changeable allowing you to easily customize your look. As a As a special introductory offer Colleen has set up a special vendor to sell 40 copies of this entire set at L$2500. All 5 rooms of this house will go to the first 40 people for L$2500.
In addition, we’ll be running a regular feature each month on Readers’ Linden Homes. Send a picture to primperfect@gmail.com of what you have done with your Linden Home — and we’ll feature the one or ones we like best in the magazine!

This month sees the launch of Relay for Life — and in this issue, I explore exactly what Relay for Life is. More than the donation kiosks, more than the wonderful events like the Homes, Gardens and Patio Expo, and the fabulous Clothing Fair — it’s one of the great communal events in Second Life — a shining example of what we can do when we bring all our creativity and initiative together.
In Content Creator News, Gwen Carillon explores the experiences of content creators who find their content stolen while, on a more hopeful note, we have the first of our columns from the team behind Spruce Up Your Space — a new initiative to bring the work of top designers within the reach of everyone by adopting fun monthly themes for items to be sold at bargain prices.
Then there’s all the latest from the Designing Worlds show, while our team of talented photographers bring you some of the most romantic and artistic eye candy in Second Life!
All this with News from the Grid and more!

So how can I get Prim Perfect?
If you prefer to read the magazine online but not inworld, there are choices. Firstly, there’s the wonderful Calaméo system, which allows you to moves smoothly through the pages, giving you the feeling of reading a real magazine. You’ll find Issue 24 here – and please do leave a comment!

But, if you like to download your magazines to read as you commute to work, or in the bath, or wherever, you can also obtain a standard pdf for downloading and printing.

For a short time, it will be available through XStreet (just search on the site for Prim Perfect). This will deliver you a copy in the form of a Thinc book that you can rez and read inworld. However, we will shortly be closing our XStreet Store and moving to another internet based provider, as we are not prepared, for a magazine that is free at point of delivery, to pay the listing charge being asked of us by Linden Lab.
We also have subscribe-o-matic kiosks throughout Second Life (these are taking over from our older vendors) – so you can just click to subscribe. You’ll be sent a copy of the latest issue, and then you’ll receive your issues regularly!
Another inworld option is to buy from our inworld vendors (located at various stores). Sometimes we have had problems with these, but you can help! If you see a vendor still selling an earlier issue, contact primperfect@gmail.com, and we’ll send someone to update it.

Or you can have it delivered to you each month as a Thinc Book, by joining the Prim Perfect Readers group inworld. It costs nothing to join and, apart from delivering the magazine each month, we won’t overload you with chat or messages!
In addition to delivering the Thinc Book version of the magazine, you’ll also get a link to the online Calaméo version of the magazine, so you’ll be able to access that too.
