Makeover Magic – Look Good, Feel Better at Fashion For Life

Fashion For Life, the 10 day fashion extravaganza spanning 9 sims has passed 4,000,00 Linden dollars raised for the American Cancer
Society and today at 2PM SLT the Avedon sim will host a special event called Makeover Magic.

On March 20 at 2 pm slt, Fashion for Life honors past Makeover Magic participants with a special fashion show. Come cheer for these beautiful survivors and caregivers, and show your support for Makeover Magic!

MAKEOVER MAGIC is organized by a team of volunteers from the American Cancer Society in Second Life, along with SL fashion experts and mentors. It is inspired by the real-life program, ‘Look Good…Feel Better’, a nationwide public service program in the USA supported by the American Cancer Society, which teaches female cancer patients beauty tips to look good during chemotherapy and radiation treatments, improve their self-esteem, and manage their treatment and recovery with greater confidence. It also now has a self-help program for men.

In the Second Life Makeover Magic program, avatars of cancer survivors and caregivers are given virtual makeovers through the generous donations of fashion designers and the efforts of volunteer fashion mentors. Makeovers cover everything, including new shapes, skins, eyes, hair, clothing, AO’s, and accessories. Each year’s program culminates in a fashion show where the participants get to show off their new looks.
