RFLSL 2011 – Seasonal highlights – Autumnal glow

Autumn leaps from the summer in rich earthy tones and splendid warmth as we continue our circuit.

The new section is brought to full impact by the gorgeous forest of Kayle Matzerath, whose creative use of information stones and wooden photo frames adds an element of eduation and intercative fun to the visit, and alongside the sheer beauty of the creation makes it clear why Kayle was awarded first place in the Designer Sim awards.

Moving on through RFL Prevention we find the NYHealthscape team’s urban build with vintage NY taxi and an Authentic NY coffee bar.

Some builds are subtle in their impact. The Purple tears build is a colourful grove of autumnal trees from the vantage point of the relayers on the track, but take to the sky and you will see another view.

Perhaps the most seasonal of the Autumn builds is the haunted hallowe’en themed build of the Team OD.
A ghostly pirate ship, and a haunted house form the basis of the build whilst to the far edge an extensive grave yard, surrounds a ghostly stage where a skeletal rock band is playing.

Each of the headstones around the cemetary represents a musician killed by cancer and touching each in turn will tell you who they were and the type of cancer that took them.

Raucous Relayers have created a nice trick or treat themed street. Visit each home and get a treat and a piece of information. Then head on in to the school where the teachers will quiz you on your knowlege and reward you once again.

As we approach the end of the Autumn section we see the unmistakable hand of Mayah Parx at play in RFL Screening. Take a feather tour of the unmistakable Toymaker’s imagination. See the vivid fantasy creations and of course, Mayah breaks the “rules” and takes us beyond and into winter to circle around her neighbour Alia Baroques impressive tower that we will no doubt come back to later.

And here, autumn descends into winter, wrap up warm for the next installment…
