Designing Worlds explores spooky places for Halloween!

Join us at 2pm today, Monday 23rd October, when we are paying our visits to some of the many, many Halloween places on the Second Life grid.

Halloween seems to be Second Life’s biggest annual festival that connects with the real world – where it tends to be biggest in the USA. We explore a variety of different Halloween areas, and aimed at a variety of audiences too. From family fun to Hell itself, we explore ghoulies and ghosties and creatures of the night – in a series of fantastic settings!

We talk to Xuxa Carnell about the different ways in which Mad Pea will be celebrating Halloween this year – with a Masquerade of Murder at its heart. And we also talk to Devil Wolf, the owner and creator of a very special Dante’s Inferno, and Lexi Dagger, the builder who turned the vision into virtual reality.

We also visit Wanders Nowhere who last year created the fabulous Castle Dracula. This year, opening this month, there is the first expansion to the Castle. Based on Sheridan LeFanu’s Gothic novella Carmilla, published in 1872, and one of the early works of vampire fiction, predating Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1897) by 26 years, the story is narrated by a young woman preyed upon by a female vampire named Carmilla, later revealed to be Mircalla, Countess Karnstein.

And we’ll be seeing some other amazing places – making a show that you really, really won’t want to miss!
