Important News about Prim Perfect

Issue 3 From now on, there’s no cover charge for Prim Perfect. In other words, Prim Perfect is FREE.

Why is this?

Well, Prim Perfect Yesterday and today we have had a lot of hits on the blog – which is lovely. And we’re getting just as many today.

This is largely because of the New York Times article, I suspect. Regular readers of this blog who haven’t seen it yet will find it here (you’ll need to register to read it if you’re not already registered, but the process is painless and free). It’s online at: www.nytimes.com/2007/08/09/garden/09second.html, and as I type these words. it’s still the third most popular article on the newspaper!

It carries the results of a series of interviews I had with NYT journalist Seth Kugel, and although the main thrust of the article is more general, we’re quoted a great deal – and designers and places that have featured regularly in the magazine are referenced. And there’s also a link to the web-site.

It even features one of the photos I took of the Odaesan House!

All in all, it seemed to us a great shame that when people came to the blog, they weren’t able to go and read the magazine for themselves … and so we have taken the decision to make it freely available. That means that denizens of Second Life can read the blog inworld as a ThincBook, and can also access it via the website and the blog as a pdf.

So, to start you off – these are the addresses for the pdfs of the first three editions, starting with the most recent. Enjoy:

(NB people who have purchased the August edition will receive a refund. People who bought the June edition were able to read it for a full month ahead of anyone else, which we think is worth 10 Linden. If people who purchased it disagree, please contact us at primperfect@gmail.com.)

  1. Free-based distribution model can only improve Prim Perfect’s effect. Nice done!

I suggested you to do this some months ago – we exchanged our views about SL magazines business models here:

Unfortunately at the time I received a harsh reaction against my posistion by another reader of this blog, that suggested I shouldn’t even stay in SL (I hope this won’t happen again – by the way, I still keep enjoying SL a lot!):
