Using Facebook to Raise Funds!

Facebook Poster in Prim Perfect OfficeDo you have Facebook? If so, you can help S.O.L.I.D., one of the charities based on Better World Island (with their Gardens of Hope project), raise money to support school students in Lesotho. They have already raised a small sum by this method, which went to supply hampers of food for Christmas in Lesotho. Now, with another Charity, they want to apply for a larger grant, for $1,000 to help students start the new school year in Africa.

If you have Facebook, you can vote for their proposal by going here and VOTING and then, if you wish, add your friends. You’ll find fuller details of the proposal at that URL too.

Or, if you want, you can do it inworld – there’s a poster with a direct link here in the Prim Perfect offices.

But you’ll need to vote quickly – the closing date is January 14th, 2008!

You can find out more details about the speedgranting from Razoo.com here.

  1. Saffia!

On behalf of SOLID I’d like to thank you for all the support you have shown our organization and our efforts in Lesotho, southern Africa. You are absolutely AMAZING!!! One of our board members are there right now and will be for the next two months. I emailed Heather just this morning about your New Year’s Eve SL fundraiser. We are all so excited and filled with gratitude for your efforts. Just a month ago a comrade from our sister organization ‘positively AFRICA!’ returned from a visit to Lesotho with the discovery of another worthy group just up the road from HaMakhata where our school is; 11 HIV+ women, their children and ‘adopted’ orphans … 33 individuals in total at the site. They are wanting to start a gardening project. The funds you have raised will be donated to them to get them started. I hope you realize how significant this is. I am filled with hope and gratefulness.

And thank you for the push on the Razoo Speed Grant on FaceBook. Should we win that $1,000.00 will go a long way to provide the children at the school with the tools they need for learning.

As a small grassroots organization, without a big name and presence, it can be difficult to raise the necessary funds to help with these small projects that have such large impact. Your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you, thank you, thank you : )

    You are ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!
