Even better than realism

Radio Riel control roomSecond Life builders have shown us magnificent replicas of real life builds as well as imaginative creations that could or would never exist in real life.

But I discovered something different today. Radio Riel has just erected its new headquarters in Caledon Penzance. Imagine, if you will, a technologically sophisticated radio station set in the middle of Her Majesty Queen Victoria’s London, complete with tasteful wallpapers, beautiful woodwork, and steampunk power. (Do try to catch sight of the power source.)

Kudos to Mr. Edward Pearse on an excellent design and build.

  1. Kudos to him indeed–he did a truly exquisite job.

The grand opening of those headquarters is occurring today, actually–one pm to four pm SLT was the first leg, and the other is seven to ten pm SLT–complete with selections from Radio Riel’s comprehensive music library.

More on this event can be found here.

Or one can simply ‘tune in’ at a distance by accessing our music stream ( http://music.radioriel.org ).

  2. I must say that I was pleasantly astonished by this marvellous build. From the panelled walls and marvellously detailed trim (echoing, to an extent, the Gaiety Theatre just down the road) to the rear outside plumbing, to the delightful steampunk studio, to the etched glass windows, Mr Pearse and his partner have done a wonderful job that does Radio Riel proud. Kudos indeed!
