September Treasure Hunt – Clue 12: Sweetbay Designs

Welcome to the Treasure Hunt for the September issue of Prim Perfect magazine.  Over the next few weeks, I will be taking you on adventures across the grid, searching for FOURTEEN items offered by some incredibly talented designers and store owners.  To complete the Treasure Hunt challenge, you need to visit each store that I profile, find the featured item, and discover its prim count.  Instructions on how to find the prim count of an item can be found either on page 92 of the magazine or on our Treasure Hunt Information Page.  For participating, you may win something wonderful by one of these designers from the Prim Perfect prize cabinet.

All aboard for Sweetbay Designs!  We’re off to find this delightful Signal Box designed by followmeimthe Piedpiper.  It’s a cute little building, two stories with a white wooden staircase leading up to the operator’s room.  Peek inside and see all the levers for controlling the switches.  This looks as if it’s been part of Sweetbay for quite a while.  While the slate roof and blue trim appear in fine condition, the white paint on the sides seems to be next on the list for maintenance.  The brickwork appears well-kept, too.   Still, the scratched paint on the signal shows its years of service.  I tried climbing the ladder for a closer look, but I had to quickly jump out of the way when Nellie the train passed close by.

Curious to see what was new around Sweetbay Designs, I hopped aboard the train for a ride.  It appears that Pip brought some modern technology to her lands.  Although it’s not currently for sale, she has created this service station to fuel and repair your beloved antique automobile.  Her work with wonderful warm stone continues, topped with a slate roof and painted wood trim in a rich green.  The ‘OPEN’ sign in front of the station twirls around with the slightest breeze, and someone’s car is already parked inside.  Keep your eye out for the cute Michelin Man poster on the side of the building!

To participate in the treasure hunt challenge, we ask you to find as many prim counts as you can for each of the magazine’s treasure hunt items.  Email the counts to primperfect@gmail.com along with your avatar name and the answer to the tiebreaker question which can be found on page 92 of the magazine.  The winner will be the person who is closest to an accurate prim count, and in the event of a tie, the tiebreaker question will be used. Your answers are due by October 6, 2008. Please remember – you don’t necessarily have to find every prim count to win a prize!  Have fun and keep watching these clues.
