October Treasure Hunt – Clue 9: Galaxy

Welcome to the Treasure Hunt for the October issue of Prim Perfect magazine!  I will be your guide as we tour the grid searching for FOURTEEN items offered by talented designers and store owners.  To complete the Treasure Hunt challenge, you need to visit each store, find the featured item, and note its prim count.  Instructions on how to find the prim count of an item can be found either on page 94 of the magazine or on our Treasure Hunt Information Page.  For participating, you may win something wonderful from the Prim Perfect prize cabinet, created by one of these designers.

The Galaxy is a three-sim long cruise ship.  It has had a long connection with Prim Perfect publications starting with being the feature of the second issue of the magazine.  Despite this history, this was my first chance to visit the floating wonder.   I started at the gangway, staring in awe at the size and detail of the ship.   Out of the corner of my eye, I spied a shark circling nearby and decided to quickly pass through the doors into the immense lobby.  The Galaxy is and has everything that a cruise ship should.  There are staterooms and suites available to rent for a short vacation or a longer stay.  There is a full shopping mall, an extensive spa, gardens, restaurants, lounges, and even a wedding chapel.  I spied my intrepid publisher attending a celebration in the wedding reception area, but I was busy on the hunt so I could not stop even for a quick dance.

The Galaxy is so large that it can be intimidating to look for the featured object – a Ship-in-a-Bottle.  It is a cute model of a three-masted ship, built within the bottle and sealed with a cork.  I spent a lot of time rushing around the ship from fore to aft, up and down elevators, looking for the item without luck.  Once I looked at the background of the picture, I knew immediately where to look.  Using one of the maps posted throughout the ship, I could click on a location and receive a landmark for a quick teleport to that area.  The location where the Ship-in-a-Bottle is sitting offers a wonderful panoramic view for the crew members on duty there as well as any visitors such as us.  Once you’ve found the item and noted its prim count, you may wish to head down several decks to the onboard spa.  A foot masage or a good soak in a hot tub is a great way to recharge before finishing the hunt!

To participate in the treasure hunt challenge, we ask you to find as many prim counts as you can for each of the magazine’s treasure hunt items.  Email the counts to primperfect@gmail.com along with your avatar name and the answer to the tiebreaker question which can be found on page 94 of the magazine.  The winner will be the person who is closest to an accurate prim count, and in the event of a tie, the tiebreaker question will be used. Your answers are due by December 1, 2008. Please remember – you don’t necessarily have to find every prim count to win a prize!  Have fun and keep watching these clues.
