Seasons’ Greetings to all our readers – and welcome to our special festive edition of Prim Perfect!
We have some very special features for you this month – such as a Christmas Photostory set in our Build of the Month. Meet Jeeves – a dog – and see what he thinks of the traditional Christmas celebrations!
And we also have pages of gift ideas from around the grid. See what ideas some of the best designers in the *Second Life* world have come up with to make your Christmas giving that little bit special.
Our Sim of the Month is Wunderbar – a collection of Victorian sims with an unusual aesthetic, influenced by its cosmopolitan inhabitants. Our landscape of the month is another Christmas treat – M0lly Dench explores the delights of Winterland – and tries her hand at spotting all the Christmas classics referenced there!
M0lly also visited our Readers’ Home of the Month – the beautiful family home belonging to Aradia Dielli, her husband Lucian Overlord and their four young daughters.
Then we have our feature article on a very special event held in a selection of vintage and steampunk sims – The Grand Tour. We have an account of what happened when a large number of those sims came together to celebrate their strengths – with comments by Baron Klaus Wulfenbach, who will be a familiar figure to readers of the popular web comic Girl Genius. There’s also an article on the Radio Riel Players of Caledon, who are currently in rehearsal for a seasonal production of A Christmas Carol.
This month’s Star Prize is a month’s free accommodation in the beautiful house designed by Keith Extraordinaire on the Kettle Moraine sim in Wunderbar. You’ll be able to read all about the house – and an interview with the hugely talented Keith Extraordinaire, designer and artist, himself.
We have two new correspondents in the magazine. Crap Mariner takes us through the Openspace sim crisis, while the very popular Second Lie of Twitter fame reads your problems and gives his definitive – and idiosyncratic – solutions.
And there’s a wonderful poem by M0lly Dench, offering a very alternative view of Christmas!
Then there are features by our regular correspondents too. Jvstin Tomorrow visits a selection of Winter Wonderlands, while Qwis Greenwood shows how to decorate your own home for Christmas. And Kaye Robbiani’s article on the Winter Garden is likely to have us all hurrying out there to create our own colourful gardens!
And our team of talented photographers bring you some of the most gorgeous design eye candy in *Second Life*!
We also have the results of our special Christmas photo contest – and there’s a special Valentine photo contest giving you chance to win an advertisement in our Valentine’s Day issue! And you can learn about the lucky winners of last month’s prizes – including a very generous donation to the SL Shakespeare Fund from one lucky winner.
Gwen Carillon brings us the Constitution of Content Creators Association – and information on how to join. Nika Dreamscape show us how to pick up some lovely Christmas bargains, while Bailey Longcloth brings us the latest news from Homestyle Consolidated, the group that draws together all the best home style designers and keenest shoppers in *Second Life*.
All this – plus Charity News, News from the Grid … and more!
So how can I get Prim Perfect?
If you prefer to read the magazine online but not inworld, there are choices. Firstly, there’s the wonderful Calaméo system, which allows you to moves smoothly through the pages, giving you the feeling of reading a real magazine. You’ll find Issue 14 here – and please do leave a comment!
But, if you like to download your magazines to read as you commute to work, or in the bath, or wherever, you can also obtain a standard pdf for downloading and printing.
Another inworld option is to buy from our inworld vendors (located at various stores). Sometimes we have had problems with these, but you can help! If you see a vendor still selling an earlier issue, contact firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll send someone to update it.
We also have subscribe-o-matic kiosks throughout Second Life (these are taking over from our older vendors) – so you can just click to subscribe. You’ll be sent a copy of the latest issue, and then you’ll receive your issues regularly!
Or you can have it delivered to you each month as a Thinc Book, by joining the Prim Perfect Readers group inworld. It costs nothing to join and, apart from delivering the magazine each month, we won’t overload you with chat or messages!
In addition to delivering the Thinc Book version of the magazine, you’ll also get a link to the online Calaméo version of the magazine, so you’ll be able to access that too.
