After eating far too much over the holidays, it’s time to get up and go hunting for the Treasure Hunt items in the December issue of Prim Perfect magazine. We’re going to jog around the grid, searching for ELEVEN items contributed by some talented designers and store owners. I’ll tell you a bit about the featured item, but you have to find it and write down its prim count. Instructions on how to find the prim count of an item can be found on page 46 of the magazine or on our Treasure Hunt Information Page. The one who submits the most correct prim counts will receive this month’s Star Prize – a manor house in Kettle Moraine furnished by Keith Extraordinaire and featured on page 36 of the magazine!
After all my good intentions for exercising through these Treasure Hunt posts, my visit to KitStar Designs may test my commitment. Within Kittie Munro’s collection of classic Greek and Roman accessories, she asks us to find the prim count of this vase. It is an amphora in black, featuring Dionysus riding a panther, with Maenid and Satyr. The information on the vase dates it to around 365 BC. Dionysus is known as the god of wine and the inspirer of ritual madness and ecstasy. With that information, my mind started to wander, but rather than returning to a certain rez day party, I continued onward.
I was also tempted by Kittie’s displays of cushions around the center of her store. Each design is richly textured, and the embedded poses are incredibly comfortable. In the picture, I am lounging on a set of her Rasheeda cushions as proof. I will leave it to you to decide whether I’m slacking off on my exercise or contemplating that pot of rich, dark Turkish coffee for a bit of extra energy to finish the hunt.
To participate in the treasure hunt challenge, we ask you to find as many prim counts as you can for each of the magazine’s treasure hunt items. Email the counts to primperfect@gmail.com along with your avatar name and the completion of the tiebreaker sentence “Prim Perfect is…” in fifteen words or less. The winner will be the person who is closest to an accurate prim count, and in the event of a tie, the tiebreaker question will be used. Your answers are due by January 20, 2009. Please remember – you don’t necessarily have to find every prim count to win a prize! Runner-up prizes will also be awarded!
