The next stop in the Valentine’s Treasure Hunt is at the modern sophistication of The Loft, the showplace for designers Colleen Desmoulins and Bethany Heart. Stop for a moment right inside the main entrance to find a display of the exotic divas of the plant world – Potted Elizabeth Orchids. Large and small pots of the sculpted flowers in Peach, Blush, Lavender, and Jaune sit regally on the tiered display awaiting your admiration. From their calm coloring to the graceful curve of the stem and the realistic textures of their pots, they deserve all the attention they can get.
Once you pay your respects, there’s a treasure hunt item to be found. Somewhere around the store is this Sharon Double Head lamp. Two cone-shaped heads sprout like flowers from metallic stalks to illuminate the area. A touch of the lamp brings up a menu to select one of five different light levels. The organic curves of the posts combined with the industrial feel of the materials make for wonderful contrast, and the design reflects the high quality found in all of The Loft’s work. Look up the prim count for that lamp and tuck it away in a safe place. We will be off to another store soon!
