Designing Worlds steps through the Looking Glass

The Looking Glass: Overview
The Looking Glass: Overview

One of greatest pleasures on designing Worlds is sharing with you some of the most beautiful places across the Metaverse – and this week on Tuesday September 7th, we invite you all to join us in our Northpoint studio at 2pm SLT as we explore a spectacular new sim, created by Marcus Inkpen and Sharni Azalee.

The Looking Glass is their brand and, in seeking to create a store – or rather, a number of small stores – where they can sell their creations, they have designed what must be one of the most stunning regions in Second Life.

We will be visiting areas ranging from a shabby city to a fairy forest, a surreal Dali-esque landscape to a stunning beautiful castle.

And we can promise you eye candy of a very high order for Marcus and Sharni don’t just create magnificently detailed builds … they pride themselves on their attention to detail too.

The results, we think you’ll agree, are amazing.

Marcus and Sharni’s creative skills are well known. Marcus is one of the artists chosen to create an immersive region for the Pavilion of Madrid at Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China – and you really should take the opportunity to visit Utopia 4 and the other Utiopia sims, as they are closing at the end of October. Sharni has won many prizes at the UWA Imagine Challenge – you can read more about the challenge in an article by Rowan Derryth in the forthcoming Prim Perfect magazine.

You may remember that Marcus and Sharni featured on our show on some of the wonderful Designer sims at Relay for Life. Their build, the Healing Hands of Eywa, was an uplifting journey through magical Pandora-inspired forests. Now it has found a new home on the ground level of the Inspire Space Park – and you’ll see images from this and from Utopia, supplied by our photographer PJ Trenton, in the course of the show.

The show starts at 2pm SLT, but you should be in our Northpoint studios by 1.30pm to make sure of getting a seat. And there will be special gifts for all who attend the show in the studio!

Or you can tune in at 2pm SLT on Tuesday for the live show – where you can now chat with other audience members and even some of the participants during the show – or catch it later in the week on our shows page on the Treet.tv web site.
