You may have seen the news about Walter James Au (aka Hamlet Au) joining the Blues Mars team to write Blue Mars Notes, and you may have wondered whether Prim Perfect will be taking such a leap as well.
Actually, we’re already there. Or rather – we’ve been there, and we’ll be back.

We’ve been exploring the wider Metaverse for some time now and reporting it both through Prim Perfect magazine and through our sister TV show Designing Worlds, produced in association with Treet.TV. We’ve visited the Science Grid to see some of the experiments that Shenlei Winkler has been running there – you can see the Designing Worlds show here, or read all about it here (starting on Page 87).
We’ve reported from the Reaction Grid and from Heritage Key as well on Designing Worlds, and last Decemeber, we broke the news that Desmond Shang of Caledon had launched a major Blue Mars project – Caledonia, following this up with an interview with Desmond (starting on page 30) that was published in the December issue of our sister magazine for vintage and steampunk regions, The Primgraph.

We’ve looked at issues affecting the wider metaverse with a critical eye, too. We looked at issues of trust raised by Legend City Online, and we have covered a major incidence of intellectual property rights violation on OpenSim.

In June this year, we devoted a whole issue to looking at non-Second Life virtual world environments: focusing on Blue Mars, Heritage Key and the Reaction Grid. If you want to learn objectively about these worlds and the people behind them, we believe that this issue makes an excellent starting point.
And this isn’t the end of our coverage. We now have a member of the team – Ignatius Onomatopoeia – who will be touring new virtual worlds and reporting back on them. When there are stories to cover, we’ll be there. In our September issue, in addition to an article from Iggy on Third Rock Grid, Beq Janus and Alaex Aeon have paid a visit to Inworldz and discovered what one of the finest creators in the Second Life world, Julia Hathor, has been achieving there.
We expect to be staying in the Second Life world for some time yet – and we’ll be reporting on all that makes it great … and things that frustrate us too. But Prim Perfect is out in the wider metaverse – so expect to hear stories from there as well. It’s going to be an exciting journey … and we look forward to seeing you along with us.
Prim Perfect is supported by advertising in the magazines and on the TV. We accept advertising from across the metaverse.
