The first Earth Week Festival in Second Life builds from the world wide celebration of Earth Day on 22 April. Organised by the Imagine Network, Earth Day embraces shared values and celebrates our efforts toward creating a sustainable human presence on the Earth. Events held around the world recognize and honour our life-giving environment.
A full information pack and an information hub to wear (which will take you seamlessly around the different events on offer) is available at different locations across the grid – including outside our offices on Oliveto.
SCHEDULE FOR SUNDAY 26th APRIL
EARTH WEEK QUILTING BEE
Midnight to 3am – “Sewing session” for week long exhibition with JudyArx Scribe
EARTH WEEK AT COMMONWEALTH ISLANDS
8am- 6pm: self-guided tours of the 4 CW sims, beginning at the AKK Horse Corral (demonstration horses available).
10am – 1pm Greenpeace celebration of past and present campaigns
DJ and slideshow
12pm – 2pm Open House: Visit with reps of the member organizations
2pm – 4pm Program: The End of Stuff – A Journey Thru Evolution, the Built Environment and Energy. Watts Larsson, NW Solar Center, Washington State University
