In a slight change of plans, we suddenly find ourselves in a position where we can do something we think you’ll really enjoy, and didn’t think we’d be able to do!
Monday saw the opening of the second Home, Garden and Patio Expo which this year covers four sims – twice the size of last year. Our sister publication Prim Perfect has a pavilion at the show where they’ll be showcasing new designers as part of their Prim Perfect Pathfinders project – and you can read about the show in much more detail here, including how to get there.
By the time we heard about the Expo, we were already committed elsewhere for the first DW show on May 5, but we have been forced to at least postpone that show until later in the season (we hope). As a result, we were suddenly free to cover the Expo, which is only on this week. In fact we’ll be looking at it on the second day, so there will be plenty of time for you to get over there and follow up on any ideas you get from the show.
We’ll be broadcasting live from the Expo, which may well be quite a challenge as we know the event is going to be extremely popular – and not only that, we won’t know who we’re going to be talking to until the last minute, as it will depend on their availability. We’re hoping to talk to the organisers and interview a few of the many designers participating.
Saffia and I went over to the expo site on Sunday as the finishing touches were being put together for the opening, and it looks extremely impressive. We visited a few of our friends in the design community as they got their exhibits together, and had a brief look around – with four sims, there’s a lot to see!
In any event, you should be in for a great show. It goes out live at 2pm on Tuesday May 5 on SLCN and you can watch it on the big screen from the newly-redesigned Designing Worlds studio in Northpoint (come and see what a great job our designers did, too). As always, there are special gifts for everyone who comes to the studio. And you can also see our exhibition hall, which has the most wonderful display by Fatima Ur of Antique Artistry and Soliel Snook and Kaye Robbiani from Giverny!
We are looking forward to our first live show under the new name and we do hope you’ll join us.
