On this week’s show, we met the artist Gracie Kendal, and explored some of her work.
Our exhibition hall – and the beach outside – is hosting some of Gracie’s installations and other artworks (and will be doing so for the next month). We talked to her about these and the ideas that lie behind them on the show.
Vodpod videos no longer available.
But we’ll also looked at Gracie’s recent work on the nature of avatars and real identity, as many people have been following through her account of it on her blog: The Gracie Kendal Project – A Conversation with my Avatar. Gracie’s installation, Me, My Alts and I is located on our Mezzanine floor, and we’ll be talking about the ways that this project has changed her perceptions – and its thought-provoking consequences for all people who have an avatar.

If you would like to read more about Gracie’s art, there is a thought provoking article by Rowan Derryth on the Prim Perfect blog, as part of her Ekphrasis column on Art in Second Life.
