We enjoyed some elegant and stylish hospitality for this year’s Thanksgiving, dining on the terrace of the beautiful home of WK Ganesvoort.

WK has a beautiful home in Costa Rica, and before we sat down to the meal, Saffia had the opportunity of exploring some of the beautiful rooms that WK has designed to host his collections of beautiful artefacts. But this is not just a museum – it is primarily a home, and we were able to take a look at the homely aspects as well. Meanwhile, Elrik explored a little of Costa Rica with Samantha Ohrberg, Events Organiser for the region – a lady who is kept rather busy!
Then we sat down for dinner – and a slightly solemn moment as we remembered Delinda Dryssen, one of the Treet family, who recently died. Yet her spirit and her work for kidney transplants live on. People who wish to read more about Delinda will find tributes here (by Dan Barrie), here (by Paisley Beebe) and here (on the Treet.TV site). In addition, Chestnut Rau, New World Notes event writer, has also created a new SL group you can join, Delinda Dyrssen Memorial: “This group is to organize a memorial concert to benefit her favorite charity and to honor her endless enthusiasm.”
Her family is requesting In lieu of flowers, people may send a donation in her name (Denise Williams) to KDIGO and/or Shay Kelly of Project 50/50 who inspired her more than she (Shay Kelly) would ever know.
Another fundraising event, this time to aid the fight against breast cancer, will be taking place on Tuesday 30th November in Costa Rica. The 1st Annual Butterfly Ball – a Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Benefiting The America Cancer Society and sponsored by Costa Rica Sims & 2Xtreme will take place on Tuesday, November 30th, 2010 from 5PM SLT – 7PM SLT
The attire is Fanciful Hats & Gowns for Ladies and Formal Tux with Tails for Gentlemen and there will be a Special “Live” Performance by Mr. WaltKeys Faith at the Costa Rica Sims Opera House Plaza.
