Today is the last day to vote for the Avatar Choice Awards – and there’s one in particular that I want to draw your attention to – in the favourite event category.
It’s one I had the honour and pleasure of being involved in … but, actually, so did you.
Maybe you sponsored a sim. Maybe you volunteered to help out – and worked your virtual butt off. Maybe you created one of the vast stupendous stages. Maybe you built something really terrific that everyone loved. Maybe you built something that was very special to you. Maybe you blogged or filmed or generally cheered it on.
Or maybe you came along and wandered from plot to plot going, “Wow! This is AWESOME!”
Because “this” was SL9B, and we made it happen.

Back in the dark days of April, when the Lab said that it was up to the Residents to organise their own birthday celebrations, it seemed a huge task. I wrote about it (a prescient blog post, as it turned out) – but I’m not sure that I actually expected anything would happen. Then there was a month of maybe it will/maybe it won’t with the LEA, before the Lab backed away (and rightly so; the LEA was not the group to organise a large scale community event). But by then it was May; the Birthday was only six weeks away. No land. No builds. Just a bunch of people who wanted it to happen, and some amazing sponsors who were willing to back them: Dreamseeker Estates, Fruit Islands, KittyCatS and an anonymous donor. Then suddenly it was twenty sims – and six weeks to pull together the biggest community party on the grid.

Now SL9B is nominated for an Avie and, in one way, I would love to see it win. But, in another way … it doesn’t matter.
We already won. We had SL9B.
Now – let’s do a jigsaw!

Catch up with your Prim Perfect jigsaws (showing images of Second Life and other virtual worlds).
If you’d like to submit a photo of your own to feature as a jigsaw, send it to the Prim Perfect Flickr Group. It should be sized 800w x 600h, or else it will need to be re-sized.
