Because next Friday, September 29th is the day for the Biggest Coffee Morning in the World (or, as we call it here in Second Life, Cake Against Cancer).
We’ll be serving up our virtual cakes, filled with your virtual cake recipes, at the Prim Perfect Head Offices on Sund – and in other places as well (watch this space).
And once again, Reven Rosca of Meshopotamia is supporting the event – and making it easy for you to bake your own cake by supplying a choice of three lovely full perm meshes*!
We’ve set up vendors for her full perm special cakes at the Prim Perfect Head Offices, so you can jump in and buy your own – and then customise it to create your ideal cake. Half of the price of the cakes goes to Macmillan Cancer Support.
So what happens to these virtual cakes?
We think our virtual cake is rather good value! We are asking you give us your favourite cake recipe, and put it inside a virtual cake. Then when someone buys the virtual cake for just 50 Lindens, they receive a real recipe – so they really have whole cakes, that they can make over and over again – and there are a lot of really delicious cakes to try!
Some people make really exquisite Second Life cakes that you can take to display in your own kitchen. Others make simple cakes using the mesh models or their own design, or even simply give us a recipe and we make the cakes for them. So, you see, anyone can take part.
On the grid, all the money we raise from cakes and donations goes to an avatar we have created especially for the event – Macmillan CoffeeMorning (with a registered name of CoffeeMorning Resident). But for people who host their own event, they can donate to our Just Giving page or directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.
