Designing Worlds discusses our avatar (and human) legacies in Second Life

In this week’s Designing Worlds, we’re looking at a sadly all too real phenomenon: when people disappear from Second Life and – often – from real life too.

The show goes live on Monday 18th February at 2pm SLT on the Designing Worlds Vimeo channel and on the Designing Worlds channel at SLArtist – and you can join the special Watch Party (also at 2pm SLT) in our studio on Garden of Dreams.

Here’s a short preview of today’s show:

In the show, we’ll be discussing what legacy they leave behind, and what steps we should be taking to protect our legacy – and make sure our friends understand what has happened.

We’ll be talking to Jo Yardley, who has written a fascinating article on this issue, and other people – KT Syakumi, Kess Viiperi, Adele Ward and Stevie Basevi – who have been affected too both by people who have died, and people who have suddenly disappeared, sometimes with devastating consequences for those who knew them, worked with them, and loved them.

We think you’ll find it a fascinating show, so please tune in or join us at 2pm SLT.
