Designing Worlds visits the Linden Builds at SL17B!

Today, Monday 13th July, Designing Worlds is paying the first of two visits to the Second Life Seventeenth Birthday Community Celebration (SL17B). This time, we’ll be looking at the Linden builds; in the next show, we’ll be looking at resident builds – just a few, because there were so many wonderful ones! But we’ll be seeing a sneak preview of those resident builds with a slideshow from Wildstar Beaumont in this show.

In this show, we check out some of the key areas like the Welcome Area, the Tapestry of Time, the Auditorium, the Main Stage and the DJ Stage; we preview the latest Linden Homes – and we take a look at the sky. Why? Because of a special Linden Lab feature – known as EEP – Environmental Enhancement Project.

We also visited the gift area and the Hop and Shop area – an amazing shopping arcade that wasn’t actually part of the main Celebration area – but very tempting! We even visit a dinosaur park and, of course, we can’t resist a podcar trip!

This year, the theme for the Birthday was vacations and road trips, and many of the exhibits were wish-fulfilment for people who were pretty much in lockdown while they were building. In the Linden builds too there are many elements of vacations – with the stages having a lovely holiday feel.
