Prim Perfect Magazine is looking for its next group of candidates for its Pathfinder programme – and those lucky enough to gain places will receive:

  • Advice from top creators in Second Life and other virtual worlds
  • Support and backing from Prim Perfect Publications
  • A regular monthly business grant to help with start up costs

In the past, the Pathfinder programme has helped new designers take steps toward developing their creative vision and starting their own businesses. Along the way, experienced designers and business owners mentored them on various topics.  Some of the Mentors from the past season are shown in this post along with the topic of their advice.

This year, the third for the Pathfinder programme, promises to be the most ambitious yet in terms of both challenges and rewards for the participants as we inaugurate our Prim Perfect Pathfinder Business Grants for three new Pathfinders.

Over the next year, our chosen Pathfinders will define their style, develop their products, search for a location, and host a grand opening of their own store – supported all the way by Prim Perfect. They will receive guidance and advice from Mentors, selected for their experience and knowledge in the steps needed to have a successful business. Along the way, the Pathfinders will share their experience with the readers of Prim Perfect.

And the Prim Perfect Pathfinders will also receive a small business grant from Prim Perfect to help them with the financial costs of starting a new business.

Will YOU be a Pathfinder in 2011?
Applications are now open for our 2011-2012 Pathfinder Program.

Potential candidates should be designers with a focus similar to that of Prim Perfect Magazine – homes, furnishings, and gardens. Items which support those markets, such as animations or scripts to be used in furniture, would also be welcome.  We are happy to mentor designers for specialty markets such as tiny, fantasy, futuristic, or steampunk as well as those who focus on specific product concepts such as music boxes or flower arrangements.

You must agree to work with the project for the full year, barring emergencies. We are making a serious commitment to this series and to your success; we ask a similar level of commitment from you.
